In my last blog post (Where did that fixed deal go and could gas and electricity prices be heading upwards?)  I wrote about the demise of E.ON’s Fix Online Version 8 tariff and the subtle changes we’re starting to see in the market.

Just to give you a quick update, yesterday ScottishPower followed suit and pulled the plug on its Online Energy Reward (a fixed price online plan) and Online Energy Saver 9 plans and has replaced them with the new Online Energy Saver 10.

This means that the average price of the cheapest gas and electricity plans in the UK has risen to £900.  It looks like prices are starting to creep up, and we’re urging people to snap up a cheap online energy plan while they still can. Even at an average £900 a year, these plans are still £294 a year cheaper than the average standard plan.
